Dr. Urvashi Shrivastava

Dr. Urvashi Srivastava aquired a Ph.D in Psychology from JNV University, Jodhpur in 2009.

Her Ph.D topic was – “The study of the influence of western and Indian Music on the personally, Adjustment & emotional Maturity of Individuals”

Dr. Urvashi Srivastava bases her concept of dance-training not only to impart the knowledge of creativity and aesthetic beauty of Indian Dances but also synergizes it with its therapeutic dimensions of Dance Therapy(DT) for several body ailments, which are either not curable or are needing elongated treatments by established school of medicines.

It attempts energy Consolidation, Enrichment and Channelization (CEC) strategy, through the typical choreography of dance on selected serene and numbing music. It is premised that three basic phases of human enlightenment, in ordered sequence, are human-energy CONSOLIDATION(C) followed by its ENRICHMENT(E) and then its CHANNELIZATION(C) in desired direction by way of soft body movements on synchronized ear soothing sonic resonance. Precisely, therefore, approach of CEC is the innovative fusion of high level human conscience and dance. It is quintessential to use Indian Classical dance for emotional, cognitive, social, behavioural and physical elevation.

Learner has to take a self-assessment psychological-test (Self Personality Analyses), typically designed after a personal interview. Suitably choreographed dance forms, in phases, are prescribed. They include a mix of classical dances (odissi, bharatnatyam and kathak) and contemporary dances (semi-classical, folk, western dances). Accordingly the subject is suitably counselled.

As the end product the enlightened subject with 100% active energy does away its dormancy. Thus optimizes, invigorates and reinforces total potential to harness the latent potential through the synergy of Indian dances and psychology.

What My Clients Say About Me

Consectetur adipiscing elit elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.

I was in a severe state of mental trauma and I suffered with severe depression. No smile, no interest in life. As if my world was snatched away from me forever. Looking at my state after an year or so my parents consulted Dr. Urvashi Shrivasta to seek her guidance and counselling for me so that I could be out of my depression. After three different sessions of counselling with her in the intervals of a week I feelt rejuvenated and morally strong to relive my life with fascination and charm.

First six years of my first marriage was full of jolts, emotional damage and psychological trauma. After suffering the tremendous loss I had become a broken piece of wood.

My parents’ support and sustained cajoling and pampering by them revived in me the interest in my present life and further survival. On my parents’ advice I contacted Dr. Urvashi Shrivastava to further help me regain my strength and live a normal life. I had four councelling and guidance sessions with her over two month’s period. Two years later I got remarried to a lecturer in college. They had no demands. I have two children and we are happily settled in our happy family life.

In 2016 my husband took up another job on promotion in Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Hinjewadi, Pune and we shifted to Pune with family. Both the children were admitted to a good school in Pune in their respective classes. It was a big environmental change for them. Most of their friends were Marathi. While my son slowly adjusted to the change my daughter (Swati) kept on struggling with the change. I could clearly see it in her irritation and poor class performance even after six months of schooling. Her report cards indicated that she had hardly any friend in her class and she was not focussed in her academics, too. This was a big big change in her behaviour as she was very bright in her class in Jaipur and was a playful talkative girl.

I was advised by my neighbour to consult Dr. Urvashi Shrivastava to assist her with psychological counselling and guidance so that she could be motivated back to adopt the new environment. Fortunately I could get an early appointment with Dr. Urvashi Shrivastava. My daughter Swati had four counselling sessions with her spanning in the interval of two months. Now I am pleased to share with you all that Swati is now smiling laughing girl and has many friends in her school. Her attention and focus in studies is now clearly visible in her improved performance through her report cards.
