Definition – What does Vocational Counselling mean?
Vocational counselling (also known as vocational rehabilitation) is a set of services designed to develop the skills and abilities of a person to the point they can perform a specific vocation in a productive way. It is often provided following an accident or development of a disability in order to help an individual transition to a new job. Counselling may be done in-house by counsellors provided by an employer or be outsourced to companies who specialize in vocational aspects of employment.
